The usual solution is to re-enter your dial-up username and password. Please remember that all usernames and passwords issued by your ISP should be in lower case.
Please also check that the connection number you are dialling is correct: Standard Dial-up Number: 0845-0591000 Business Surf Number: 0808-9933081 Evening Surf number: 0808-9933082.
The TCP/IP settings may also be incorrect; these should normally be set to server assigned IP address and name servers.
