What is being migrated?
Legend Host MigrationCustomers with Legend UNIX hosting are having their websites migrated onto the Demon Virtual Server (DVS) platform.DVS is a virtual platform which offers customers a wider range of features and a higher standard of service and security more appropriate to present and future online activity.
What notification of the migration will I receive?

Letters have been sent out to all customers providing 30 days notice of the start of the migrations. Migrations will run from the 22nd December 2009 until the 22nd January 2010. Subsequently, when the migration of a site has been completed a notification email will be sent to the address logged in your Legend Control Panel contact details.
Will the server name username and password I use for uploading content stay the same?

How long will the migration take?
Legend Host MigrationMigrations will take place over the course of a fortnight. Migration of individual sites will take approximately 15 minutes in order to allow DNS changes to take effect.
Do I need to do anything?
Legend Host MigrationYou do not need to do anything in preparation for the migration, however, in order to receive email notification when the migration of your site is complete you should ensure your Legend contact information is up to date, by visiting your Control Panel at https://controlpanel.legend.co.uk/
Wll anything be changing?
Legend Host MigrationThere will be some minor changes due to the migration:
The IP address of migrated websites will be changed but as part of the migration DNS for the domain will updated to reflect this.
FTP passwords will no longer be visible via the Legend Control Panel, although it will still be possible to manage them online.
Web-space quotas will be enforced - previously this was not always the case.
Will my site continue to function as normal?
Legend Host MigrationYes, the existing functionality of customer sites will be unaffected.
Will my site be subject to any downtime?
Legend Host MigrationNo, the migration will not require any downtime of customer sites.
